TOEFL (Part Time)
Speaking: The student¡¯s ability to communicate is enhanced
in a private one-on-one setting.
Each student is privileged to an approximately 10-15 minute
session with the teacher. The
teacher gives instant feedback and comments regarding all verbal
aspects related to TOEFL: articulation, clarity, organization, delivery,
format, and comprehension. The student gains familiarity with all
the types of TOEFL questions and knows how to respond effectively
to any given topic.
Writing: Both the integrated summary and
the independent essay are given alternately each week. The student is exposed to the most practical
writing strategies and skills for handling both types of questions.
Written assignments are corrected and evaluated to enhance
the student¡¯s writing ability.
The teacher will focus on developing and perfecting the student¡¯s TOEFL writing skills in organization, vocabulary, sentence structure,
expressions and the use of transitional words to achieve a high
score in the written section.
The student will also receive a sample written response from
the teacher.
Reading: A variety of academic topics
are given. The reading
is accompanied by the teacher¡¯s clear, comprehensive explanation on the historical, scientific or
cultural background, vocabulary and key phrases. Answers are given and instantly reviewed
to clarify the questions students may have. Vocabulary is one of the prominent aspects
of the lecture. TOEFL
reading skills and strategies are delivered to the student on a
regular basis.
Listening: A brief description of the listening
passage is given and difficult words are explained prior to the
actual listening. The
student will become more familiar with the lecture and retain knowledge
of what they have heard.
